A new beginning...

After bringing Clover home in her crate- we allowed her to sit for a bit, unbothered. Later that day I opened the crate letting her sniff me. She refused to look at us- turning her head and eyes away. As we pet her she shakes with fear.

For the first 48 hours she did not use the bathroom once! I was beginning to get worried- talking with other volunteers of CAAR for ideas. We finally tried pumpkin puree on her dinner and it worked like a charm. Who ever knew we would be so excited over a bowel movement?!?

For the next week Clover got a bath every morning. Because she would hold her bladder in all day and wet/mess her crate a night. Funny enough. Clover seemed very relaxed at bath times. Each day I spent several 15-20 minute sessions sitting with her in my lap. Of course I had to drag her out of the crate each time but once Clover felt relaxed in my lap she would sigh so loudly! She also began to take food out of my hand.

Cutest thing ever- She has a 5th toe on one of her back paws. :)
