From the Start...

Clover came to the Transylvania County Animal Shelter on March 1st, 2011- after being abandoned by her previous owners when they moved. She sat at the shelter for weeks, pressed against the wall, scared to death.

I visited the shelter on many occasions because I do photos for the rescue group Charlie's Angels Animal Rescue (CAAR). And from the moment I saw Clover my heart reached for her. She wouldnt let me get close enough to get a good photo. Most of the dogs at the shelter coming running to you when you open their cages- Clover on the other hand tried to run away. I kept hoping that someone would pull her for adoption or foster. But by her 4th week there no one had- so of course I agreed to foster for CAAR until another foster home opened up.

The morning that I was to go pick Clover up from the shelter she escaped when Animal Services Staff was cleaning her cage :( poor girl. She hung around the outside fence of the shelter but never coming within arms reach. After the shelter closed that night I went back with canned food hoping to catch her. After an hour of sitting and baby talk I was able to get Clover to eat food placed 3-feet from me but no luck in catching her as darkness fell in. The next morning I received a call that animal services had caught her- I immediately went to pick her up.

And so Clover's recovery and journey begin.
